On November 1st 1982 Hermiston Oregon, a boy was born at 8:30 a.m. He was named Jonathan McGuire. From the first day he took his footsteps, it was destined that he was born to be known to the world. From a young age he loved music in every shape or form. By the 5th grade he knew that Hip-Hop was his music of choice listening to Snoop Doggy Dog and Bone thugs n Harmony. In his spare time he would draw out album covers knowing that someday he would become a rapper. At the age of 13 Jonathan and his family moved to Boise Idaho. It was here in Boise that his dreams became to come true.
Upon arriving at Boise hip-hop was put on the back burner and he was caught up in everything that a teenager faces. He was more concerned with getting throwed and working on his car. At the age of 16 he was introduced to Eloheem. It was then when he was reunited with his original passion. Eloheem taught him the skills of freestyle, and he was given the name of Big Fub. With the spark re-lit he then took it upon himself to make his name known. He started to become a battle rapper and challenge many local MC’s.
He quickly learned that you needed to have a finished project to really take a lead in local Hip-Hop. At the age of 18 he wrote and recorded his first album titled “Strictly Dramatic.” Not only did he write and record it himself, he also composed all of the beats. He quickly learned that he was nice on the beats. After performing at many local Hip-Hop shows and selling cd’s in the street, he moved on to the second album with Eloheem by his side. The album titled “Meeting of the Minds,” came out May 2004. This album contained 17 local features and quickly sold many copies and had some major play on Magic 93.1, the buzz was incredible. This album led to over 18 shows in the year of 2004.
In July of 04 Fub hooked up with his cousin, JaeMez. They quickly learned that there music style was on the same page. It was decided by both that it was mandatory to create an album. They called themselves Related Rhymes. The chemistry of these cousins quickly was discovered to be a predestined duo. The Self titled album "Related Rhymes" released on august 28th 2005. It went on to sell 2,000 copies in the northwest and over 800 copies the first two weeks. Their first single off of the album "One More TIme" held down the number 1 spot on the hot nine at nine on Music Monster 99.1 KTPZ for 4 weeks straight.. This album featured such industry heavyweights as Bizzy Bone of Bone thugs n harmony, Rasheed of dopehouse, and Raquel J. After over 23 shows in 2005 and opening for every single major hip hop act to come through Boise, Washington, and Oregon, they knew that they were an unstopable force..
